The first step is to choose a program from the list of available Specialty Certificate programs, and register for your first course.
Our Specialty Path certification programs provide students with an ideal opportunity to connect and learn along with professionals who share a common interest in an applied area of coaching such as Business, Christian, Career Development, Life, Relationship, and Wellness Coaching.
In addition to learning the fundamentals of coaching, core competencies and coaching methods during the Foundations or Coach Approach course, students will complete a rigorous concentration in their particular area of focus taught by faculty members with extensive backgrounds and experiences coaching within that particular domain.
All certifications require 80 hours of coach training, of which a significant percentage of the electives should be chosen from the electives listed on the applicable certification page.
Beginning in January, 2020, in order to best prepare our students to be best prepared to meet the changing dynamics of the coaching profession, ILCT also will require that students have at least completed the training requirements to qualify for either an ICF credential or the BCC before being awarded a Specialty certification. Upon completion of the 80 hour training requirements of the Specialist program, students will be awarded a Coaching Specialist Certificate in the applied area of study and can be listed on our Coach Referral List.
For those individuals interested in becoming certified as a Career Development Coaching Specialist (CDCS), ILCT has developed an 80 hour course of study which will provide you with the training and focus necessary to join this exciting, fast-growing field.
Are you interested in working with clients who are seeking to grow in the context of their Christian faith, inspiring growth in accordance with their God given gifts and talents? This Specialty program begins with the 40 hour Foundations course for Christian Coaches, incorporating core competencies and live coaching along with the the tools for reaching and empowering clients.
Are you interested in bringing coaching to the workplace with an eye towards increasing productivity, or working with business leaders or entrepreneurs? This Specialty program begins with the 40 hour Foundations course incorporating core competencies and live coaching. Students then advance to complete an additional 40 hours with a focus in Executive and Business Coaching, providing expert instruction in business, workplace and executive coaching assessments and techniques, leadership development, and ethics, allowing each student to customize their training to meet their specific needs and interests.
The Life Coaching Specialist (LCS) program provides those working towards PCC credentialing with an opportunity to obtain ILCT’s well-established coaching certification upon completion of 80 hours of coursework. The LCS program includes the 40 hour Foundational Course, ICF Core Competency, and Coaching Skills Practicum.
Do you coach couples or are you looking to expand your coaching practice to include couples? This Specialty program provides a coaching model and structure for working with couples who want to create more fulfilling relationships in their lives. It begins with the 40 hour Foundations course, incorporating core competencies and live coaching. Students then advance to complete an additional 40 hours with a focus in relationship coaching. This portion of the program is comprised of 2 required courses providing expert instruction in how to establish and implement an action plan with couples to achieve the relationship vision, and 16 elective hours, allowing each student to customize their training to meet their specific needs and interests.
Coaching wellness requires acknowledging many aspects of well-being that extend beyond an attention to physical health. Wellness involves a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit to facilitate optimal living. Designed for coaches, wellness professionals, and laymen, this Specialty program begins with the 40 hour, Foundations course incorporating core competencies and live coaching. This specialties program also requires 40 hours of electives providing expert instruction in wellness concepts, wellness assessments, and the skill set of effective wellness coaches, allowing for each student to customize their training to meet their specific needs and interests.
